A Russian cultural centre is planned to be opened in the Bosnian capital Sarajevo, the press centre of the government of Bosnia and Herzegovina revealed on Friday, January 17. According to official information, the centre will be financed by charitable organisations and private donations.
There are currently up to 5,000 Russian speakers living in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Some sources claim that Russian-language books and periodicals for the centre were bought by Bosnian Serbs, and the furniture and office equipment were supplied by an unnamed Muslim businessman.
