Russian karate sportsmen's success at vado-kai karate championship

Russian sportsmen from the Ural city of Chelyabinsk made a tangible contribution into the Russian national team's victory at the first world vado-kai karate championship that finished on Sunday at the Moscow universal gym "Druzhba". The team was headed by Oleg Strogonov, a coach from Chelyabinsk.

The Chelyabinsk sportsmen did not only top the score as individuals but also won in prestigious team competitions.

In the finals the Russian men's national team beat the Japanese team 3:0, with Russian women outscoring Kazakhstan's team 2:1.

First prize in both teams went to judoists from Chelyabinsk - a coach from the Konas sport school Lyudmila Movsheva and one of the school's sportsmen Ruslan Shavaleyev.

Besides, Movsheva won two silver medals in individual competitions, Ruslan Shavaleyev won bronze.

Other Chelyabinsk sportsmen Tagir Usmanov and Vyacheslav Gvozdev, playing for the national teams of Kazakhstan and Belarus also won bronze medals in their weight.
