Russian FSB Foils Assassination Attempt Using AI-Generated Woman as a Trap

Ukrainian Intelligence Tried to Poison Senior Russian Defense Officer with Beer

Ukrainian intelligence services attempted to poison a high-ranking officer of the Russian Defense Ministry, whose identity remains undisclosed. According to the Federal Security Service, the attackers planned to use a mixture of two highly toxic British-made poisons: colchicine and tert-butyl bicyclophosphate. The latter acts as an analogue of the VX nerve agent. Once inside the body, these substances cause an agonizing death within twenty minutes, with the victim dying in severe convulsions, as reported by Komsomolskaya Pravda.

AI-Generated Woman Used to Lure the Target

Investigators found that the officer had met a woman named Polina online before the incident. According to the newspaper, the contact began on a dating app. After a month of casual communication, the woman claimed she wanted to give him British beer as a gift. Their attempts to meet in person failed, so she decided to send the present through a courier.

Authorities later discovered that the woman never existed. All images and videos in the chat were generated by neural networks, and the conversation was run by a Ukrainian intelligence officer, according to the publication.

Local Resident Recruited for $5K to Deliver Poisoned Drinks

A resident of the Donetsk People’s Republic received instructions from the perpetrators to mix the poisons into the beverages and act as the courier who delivered the package. The organizers promised him a payment of five thousand dollars for carrying out the plan.

The Federal Security Service of Russia detained the man, and the arrest appeared on video. Footage shows a black car arriving at a building entrance, a man stepping out with a package, and the recruited courier approaching to take it before security officers detain him. During interrogation, he admitted guilt and provided detailed testimony about the operation.
