Texan jailed for keeping messy lawn near his house

A warrant was subsequently issued to arrest the man. Apparently, the local authorities assumed that the grass on his lawn was dangerously high, Pravda.Ru reports. In September of 2014, Rick Yoes, a campus electrician for Tarrant County College,  was unable to cut the lawn on his Grand Prairie home. The man was surprised to find out that the local government fined him just because the grass on his lawn was six inches high. The fine was worth $1,700.

Unable to pay the fine, Yoes was forced to use up all of his vacation days and find a replacement for his position as he serves out his 17 day sentence in the county jail - to pay his debt to society.

Noteworthy, in Missoula, Montana, USA, local authorities passed a bill that stipulates punishment for those women who wear tight pants in public places, Pravda.Ru says.

Freedom of expression at its finest.
