Hollywood actors Catherine Oxenberg and her husband Casper Van Dien stated about their support to famous Mexican collector and philanthropist Freddy Novelo who intends to show his collection of articles connected with the Russian Romanov imperial family.
Freddy Novelo is well-known for his charity activity, and his Fine Arts and Design Foundation has the respectful attitude towards Russian culture in general and the Romanov imperial family in particular, Catherine Oxenberg told Itar-Tass by phone.
Freddy Novelo, 45, recognized by the Guinness Book of Records as the world youngest Faberge collector intends to hold an exhibition of the collection of articles connected with the Romanov imperial family for the first time in Moscow and Petersburg at the beginning of 2006.
The exposition will include 1000 objects of art, including the Faberge egg Blue Winter" presented by Russian Emperor Nicholas II to his mother Maria Fedorovna in 1913, a brooch set with a ruby from personal belongings of Empress Alexandra Fedorovna, as well as a gold frame for photographs, which belonged to tsarina Anastasia and was presented to her by her father in 1912. Original rare state documents signed by the last Russian monarch are also interesting for history connoisseurs.
Catherine Oxenberg who played the lead in the TV series Dynasty has the direct relationship to the Romanov imperial family. The actress is a daughter of Princess Elizabeth of Yugoslavia who is the great-great granddaughter of Russian Empress Catherine the Great. Catherine Oxenberg joked that she is part of the Romanov legacy herself, Itar-Tass reports.
