FDA rules food from cloned animals safe

Natural food? Why not try meat or milk from cloned animals or their offspring?

Nowadays it’s possible because the FDA has ruled them safe to eat. But it will take years before products from cloned animals appear on store shelves. And it’s not only the problem of ethics but of price – from $10,000 to $20,000 for a pop, cloned cows are more expensive than ordinary ones.

Some large food companies, Whole Foods Market among them, announced that they do not intend to sell meat and milk from cloned animals because of doubts about the technology.
