The first Far East international economic congress, to be held in Khabarovsk on September 27 and 28, will discuss international cooperation and ties between Russian regions.
"The congress will be attended by Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Yakovenko, who will speak about Russia's foreign policy priorities in Asia and the Pacific," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a release, posted on the ministry's official website on Sunday, Interfax reported.
The congress will involve politicians, statesmen, public figures, ministry officials, experts and businessmen from Russia and abroad, and is expected to become an event of international significance, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
"Its goal is to chart optimal ways of economic development for Russia and its regions, and ensure the country's effective integration with the global economic system," the ministry said.
