YUKOS case undermines situation with private property rights

The situation around YUKOS undermines the idea that private property is inviolable in Russia, Yegor Gaidar, the co-chairman of the Union of Right Forces (SPS), declared at an Internet press conference organized by RBC. His personal opinion is that many events around YUKOS seem to be dubious from a legal point of view, in particular, "calling lawyers to interviews and inviting people as witnesses and then accusing them". Gaidar expressed concerns that "the idea to take property back and distribute it has emerged on the agenda again".
