United Russia has ambitious plans

The United Russia party intends to prepare a model legislation basis for the country in the next four years, Boris Gryzlov, chairman of the party's Supreme Council said at a Friday All-Russian conference of United Russia deputies of all levels.

"The Party's legislative strategy is based on practical implementation of presidential initiatives aimed at elimination of poverty, the strengthening of the economy and modernization of the Russian Armed Forces," Mr Gryzlov underlined. According to him, "the main goal of all adopted laws must be protection of the population's and state's interests." The main legislative priorities for United Russia in the Russian State Duma of the fourth convocation are the ensuring of social guarantees for the population, protection of interests of mothers and children, the fight against corruption and crime, the restoration of the agro-industrial sector, as well as the debureaucratization of the Russian economy.

Boris Gryzlov stressed that it was necessary to adopt a long-term population employment program that would make it possible to create a normal labor market in the country.
