Russia produced 294,000 cars in January to April 2003, which was 14.2 percent less compared to the corresponding period in 2002, the Russian State Statistics Committee reported. The source specified that domestic automobile makers reduced production of cars by 1.2 percent in April 2003 compared to April 2002 but, simultaneously, this production was 8.5 percent higher against March 2003.
The production of buses went up 7.8 percent to 24,100 in Russia in January to April 2003 against the corresponding period last year.
