Bashkirian Foreign Trade Grows to USD 285 Million

Bashkiria's foreign trade turnover in the first quarter of 2003 was USD 285 million. According to the republic's government, this is an increase of 1.6 times over the same period last year. These figures were released on Saturday, April 19 at a select meeting of the Bashkirian government. The Bashkirian Finance Ministry announced that exports from the republic grew by 77.9% in comparison with the same period last year, while imports dropped by 15.6%.
