11.8 Percent More Passengers Fly Pulkovo in 2003

St. Petersburg Pulkovo Airlines announced on Wednesday that in 2003 for the first quarter 331,580 passengers, or 11.8 percent more than for the same period last year, flew the St. Petersburg-based airlines. The airlines press service also said that 208,340 passengers flew routes within Russia and 123,300 flew international routes in the first three months of 2003.

The amount of freight (including post) shipped by the airlines in the first quarter of 2003 also increased by 18.1 percent in comparison with the same period in 2002 and weighed in at 1697.3 tonnes. On internal flights the company shipped 1398.4 tonnes of freight and on international and CIS flights shipped 298.9 tonnes.

Pulkovo Airlines is the oldest airlines in Russia. At the current time, the airlines owns air station complexes Pulkovo 1 and Pulkovo 2 and two runways in southern St. Petersburg. The airlines also owns 24 TU-154, 11 TU-134, and 8 IL-86 airplanes.
