Gryzlov: Calls for Paying More Attention to Investigating Facts of Corruption

Russian Interior Minister Boris Gryzlov called upon the investigation committee of his ministry to pay more attention to the investigation of major terrorist acts and facts of corruption.

Boris Gryzlov said at a conference in Moscow on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the formation of investigation bodies within the Interior Ministry, that major bribes cases amounted to less than one per cent of all investigated criminal cases." He added that law-enforcers "manage to keep the criminal situation in the country under control." According to the minister, the level of crime in the country lowered by 15 percent last year, and the share of grave and especially grave crimes dropped by 24 percent.
