World Bank to provide financial aid to Georgia after earthquake

The World Bank decided to allocate $10m to Georgia for eliminating consequences of earthquake that had shaken Georgia on April 25, 2002, a World Bank official reported. He stressed that a part of these funds would be spent on restoring buildings and some money would be allocated for preventive measures, the Black Sea Press agency reported.

Georgian President Eduard Shevardnadze asked the World Bank President for help straight after the earthquake on April 25.
