KPRF leader Gennady Zyuganov believes that the Palestinian-Israeli conflict can be settled only by implementing the UN resolutions, which envisage Israel's withdrawal from the occupied territories, refugees' return and creation of an independent Palestinian state with the capital in eastern Jerusalem, Zyuganov's address to Yasser Arafat, head of the Palestinian National Authority, which was distributed in the State Duma (the parliament's lower chamber) on Tuesday, reads.
The above said measure is "the only means to stop the violence, ensure stable and lasting peace," the address underlines.
Zyuganov expressed his deep bewilderment by "the so-called Bush plan", particularly by its part, which implied changing the Palestinian government." "The Palestinian leaders were elected from the most active fighters for Palestinian rights, they passed through tremendous ordeal and proved their commitment to the idea of national deliverance," the address reads.
"The US and Israeli leaders' effort to impose puppet governors on Palestinians is doomed to failure," Zyuganov assured.
