Subtropical Russia leader calls for Gorbachev to sacrifice his "historical sweater" to Mathias Rust

Co-ordinating Council of the movement “Subtropical Russia” is alarmed by the fact that “national hero of democratic Russia” Mathias Rust, famous for his light plane’s landing at the Red Square in 1987, is arrested again. This time he is accused of stealing a sweater from a department store in Hamburg. According to the statement of the Subtropical Russia leader Vladimir Pribilovsky, “Russia remembers and loves Rust, whose plane landed at the Red Square May 28, 1987, which contributed to the beginning of the military reform and to other positive changes in the society”. The recent incident makes the leaders of the movement “send a request to the USSR president Mikhail Gorbachev to solicit German justice for Rust’s release on bail of Gorbachev’s historical sweater, which he had on while negotiating with Helmut Kohl on reunification of Germany” IMA-Press announces. Besides, Subtropical Russia calls for the population of Russia to arrange a collection of warm clothes to “supply Rust with the sweaters till the end of his life”. The parcels should be sent to: police station, Hamburg, Germany.
