Beijing strives to keep its new subs in secret

American military expert Brian Bender thinks that EP-3 was not spying upon Chinese ship. It was searching for Chinese submarines. According to the expert, these subs exceed everything, ever made in China. They can launch cruise missiles from under the water, and therefore represent danger to American aircraft-carriers. The harsh respond to the incident is provoked by the fact that Beijing wants to keep the new submarines in secret, Brian Bender says, citing Chinese sources. Therefore Chinese President Jiang Zemin said that the United States should “finish with all the spy flights in the airspace over Chinese coastal side”, in order not to repeat such incidents. PRAVDA.RU has already published a comment by vice-admiral Valery Dorogin, who expressed the same point of view.
