There are 3 million drug addicts in Russia

According to the latest data, the number of drug addicts in Russia amounts to 3 million. This number increased more than 7-fold over the past 10 years. This was announced on Thursday at the session of the Federation Council Science, Culture, Education and Ecology committee. Deputy head of the Russia's Interior Ministry department for fighting illegal drug turnover, Leonid Tantsorov told the press that such a situation can be caused, apart from other reasons, by excessively liberal law practice, AK&M announces. The situation with illegal drug turnover is especially threatening in Moscow and St. Petersburg, in Siberia, in the Russian Far East, in the Volga region and in the Northern Caucasus.
