Albert Gore, having half-lost the presidential election, addressed the American voters. It was a heartfelt speech in which he blasted the ruling of the Florida state secretary who had acknowledged George W. Bush’s victory. Mr. Gore argues that the vote count was incomplete and inaccurate. “Once in 4 years, the rich and the poor, the strong and the weak, men and women, citizens of all races, cultural backgrounds and political views – all are equal. But they are equal as long as all their votes are taken into account,” said Mr. Gore. He assured the Americans that if he turned loser in the end, it would be a fair result because the wishes of all the people would be then regarded. While the Republicans are already engaged in forming the administration, the Florida court has accepted the vice-president’s appeal concerning the necessity to take into consideration the results of vote recount in 3 Florida counties (which were disregarded due to pressing deadlines). At the same time, the Florida Supreme Court has accepted another complaint – Palm Beach county residents demand for a re-election to be held in the state. Why not?
