MAJORITY OF RUSSIANS INCLINED TO REVIVE USSR ANTHEM

The music written by Soviet composer Aleksandrov for the former USSR anthem should become Russia’s new anthem. This is the opinion of nearly 49% Russians polled by the Public Opinion Foundation. Two other options, the current anthem based on the music by Russian composer Glinka and the famous song Wide is My Native Country by Soviet composer Dunayevski, have scored equal, 15% each.
