European Commission is ready to apply to the World Trade Organization for sanctions to be imposed on the US because of privileges the US grants to its exporters, BBC reports. A formal request is to be lodged next week, European Trade Commissioner Pascal Lamy says. Earlier this year, WTO acknowledged that favourable terms of the taxation was tantamount to backing of illegal export. Washington should have corrected it by November 1st, but failed to.
