Lukashenko will visit Libya

Belarussian President Alexander Lukashenko, shunned by the West for stalled market and democratic reforms, is to pay a visit to Libya next week. Lukashenko's spokesman Nikolai Borisevich told Reuters the two-day visit would start on October 31. The president is to hold talks with Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi. The presidential press service said in a statement the Belarussian delegation planned to sign an accord on protection of mutual investment with Libya, “Russia journal” reports. "According to the president, he goes to places where he can more amply realise our economic interests," Borisevich said. "The main goal of the visit to Libya is economic accords."
