The Tushino district court of Moscow fixed the date of the trial of Anatoli Bykov, the businessman from the city of Krasnoyarsk possessing 28 percent of KrAZ company’s shares. The trial will be carried out on October 22. Bykov’s lawyer lodged a complaint about the judge’s decision to carry out the trial in Moscow. This decision will determine where Bykov will be tried: in Moscow or in Krasnoyarsk. Earlier, Bykov was deprived of his deputy’s immunity while being a deputy of Krasnoyarsk Legislative Assembly. There are too many white spots in Bykov’s case. In 1990, he was arrested by Interpol in Hungary because of suspicion of white-washing money, swindle, and organizing an ordered murder. Now there is only one point of these three: Bykov is still being suspected of murdering criminal Pavel Struganov. Bykov’s former lawyer Robert Dubinnikov stated that Pavel Struganov was alive and the case had been trumped up because of lack of evidence of the two other points. The investigation possesses only the so-called killer’s declaration that Bykov has asked him to kill Struganov. There are too many people interested in Bykov’s absence. Bykov is one of the most popular politician in Krasnoyarsk region. Once, he even supported Alexandr Lebed during his election campaign, and while he was abroad, he became a member of Liberal Democratic Party of Russia; Bykov’s candidacy was declined. According to the ‘Ekho Moskvy’ radio station, Anatoli Bykov’s yearly income is 45 million dollars. Though Bykov’s main opponent is Alexander Lebed, against whom Bykov has launched an information war. Bykov’s ne lawyer, Genrikh Padva, announced that his client had been offered freedom in exchange of KrAZ shares. In general, the press considers Bykov’s case to be connected with his fight for governor’s chair. It cannot be excluded that if an agreement on this field is met, the case will be closed and the defendant will return to Krasnoyarsk.
