GM-AvtoVAZ Venture May Begin Producing Car Parts

A possibility of establishing a joint venture within the framework of the GM-AvtoVAZ project is considered now. It will be producing parts for Chevrolet-Niva cars. "We pay a lot of attention to quality and the training of our people," the Director General of GM-AvtoVAZ declared. He also confirmed information, that there are plans for the production of jeeps, hatchbacks and vans. Later, the joint venture may begin producing Opel Astras and even small cars. "We will decide whether these small cars will be designed by General Motors, or AvtoVAZ or by both of them," the official added. In addition, he stressed that the production of engines would be among the main activities of the joint venture.
