Russian Embassy To Resume Work In Kabul

An agreement on allotting Russia premises for two years without compensation so that a Russian embassy might resume its functioning in Afghanistan was signed in Kabul Monday by Afghan foreign ministry officials and Russia's special envoy Alexander Oblov. The latter made it clear that the embassy would start work in the near future. The former Russian embassy, which was seriously damaged in 1992, harbours now about 30,000 refugees on its territory.
