Finance Ministry Registers 4 Issues Of Central Bank Bonds

The Finance Ministry of Russia registered 4 issues of bonds of the Central Bank of Russia on December 3, 2001. The total volume of the bonds was 10 billion rubles (about $334.1 million). Deputy Finance Minister Bella Zlatkis gave this information to reporters today. She remarked that the volume of each of the registered issues is 2.5 billion rubles (about $83.5 million). Placement of these issues of Central Bank bonds is scheduled for the end of December 2001, Zlatkis pointed out. She did not mention the term of circulation of the bonds. In her opinion, placement of these securities will facilitate removal of excessive ruble liquidity from the financial market, which will increase its stability.
