Itera ready to continue gas supplies to Armenia

The Itera company is ready to provide uninterrupted natural gas supplies to Armenia in 2003, on the condition that payments for this fuel are made on schedule, and the obligations dealing with payments for gas supplied in 2002 are fulfilled. Itera President Igor Makarov announced this position at a meeting with Armenian President Robert Kocharian.

The gas company's press service reported that the Armenian President approved of Itera's work and remarked on stable supplies of Russian natural gas to Armenian consumers.

As it was reported earlier, Itera had been selling natural gas to Armenia since 1996. The volume of sales has been between 1bn and 1.5bn cubic meters a year, depending on Armenia's demand for Russian gas.
