Itera to increase natural gas exports to Azerbaijan

Itera Group is going to meet the request of Azerbaijan to increase exports of Russia's natural gas from 4bn to 5.5bn cubic meters in 2003, the company's press service reported to RBC. According to the current contract, Azerbaijan will receive 4bn cubic meters of natural gas, however, Itera has started negotiations with Azerbaijani officials about a possible increase of gas supplies. The press service reported it was difficult to forecast when the final agreement would be reached. According to Itera President Igor Makarov, Itera has enough resources to fulfill its obligations under contracts and meet Azerbaijan's demand for gas.
