KrasAir to lease eight DC-9 airplanes

KrasAir, a Russian airline company, is planning to lease eight DC-9airplanes until 2003, General Director of the company Boris Abramovich saidat a press conference 'The Siberian Transport Node' held in Krasnoyarsktoday. The General Director was quoted as saying by the end of this yearthe Board of Directors of KrasAir will consider the issue of signing anagreement about supplying DC-9 airplanes by Ansett Aviation Equipment, anAustrian leasing company. A DC-9 airplane is very similar in its technicalcharacteristics to a Russian TU-154M, however, DC-9 has a longer flightdistance, Abramovich pointed out. .
