Russia To Boost Oil Production

Russian production of oil, including gas condensate, rose by 8.3 pct to 214.32 mln tonnes over the first six months of the year compared to the same period in 2001, Interfax reported quoting sources in the state statistics committee. Oil production excluding gas condensate stood at 207.33 mln tonnes, up about 8.2 pct year-on-year, the report said.

LUKoil retained its position as the number one Russian oil company, producing 43.05 mln tonnes, up 1.4 pct year-on-year, followed by Yukos with 29.88 mln tonnes.
