Clashes between Hutu rebels and government forces leave 21 dead Ethnic violence again flares up in Burundi with the ever-present spectre of another Hutu-Tutsi clash which led to hundreds of thousands of deaths in the 1990s in Burundi and Rwanda.
The violence broke out as the delegations from the Burundi government in Bujumbura and the rebel Hutu group (Forces for the Defence of Democracy) arrived in Tanzanian capital Dar-es-Salaam for peace talks, which were due to begin last Tuesday.
