Double the permissible concentration of carbon dioxide registered in Moscow

Double the permissible concentration of carbon dioxide /the main polluter of urban air/ -- 10 mg per cubic metre of air -- has been registered in Moscow.

Nikolai Fursov, director of the state nature-protection enterprise Mosekomonitoring, said that on Thursday that level was registered by most of the Mosekomonitoring stations.

This heightened pollution of the Moscow air is connected with the spread of haze from the forest and peat bog fires burning in a number of areas of the Moscow Region.
