In the coming years, the Krasnoyarsk Territory should become a flourishing region rather than simply a self-sufficient one, said its new governor Alexander Khloponin after the inauguration ceremony.
The governor said his statement was well-grounded. First, the territory's rich natural potential is worth being used better. Second, Khloponin has already launched negotiations with executives of financial-industrial groups operating in the region. The governor said that all of them must be in equal conditions and pay taxes within the Territory. According to Khloponin, representatives of Alfa Group, Yukos, Nornikel, Gazprom and other companies have perceived this demand with understanding. Khloponin hopes to find a consensus with Oleg Deripaska, head of the Russian Aluminium, with whom he will possibly negotiate on October 18.
