Toyota Motor to Double Russian Sales of Toyota and Lexus Cars Next year

The Toyota Motor car manufacturer intends to double its volume of sales of Toyota and Lexus cars in 2003. This was announced on Wednesday by Toyota Motor's Russian president Norio Naka. According to Naka, 5,400 Toyota cars were sold in Russia in the first nine months of 2002. A further 2,500 cars will be sold by the end of this year. In 2001 Toyota Motor sold 4,500 cars on the Russian market.

Naka revealed that the highest selling model in Russia is the Toyota Corolla. In the first nine months of this year 1,200 were sold.
