Vladimir Putin met with members of the creative group of the Nord-Ost musical in the Kremlin on Wednesday.
In the evening of October 23 the building of the Theatre Centre in Dubrovka, where the show was on, was seized by terrorists.
The president of Russia said that a bit more than a week ago the country went through a shock and a terrible tragedy, but those who were there and were threatened to be killed any minute, had a much harder time.
President Putin said that it has been possible to get out of the situation "at the cost of a terrible tragedy and losses that cannot be replaced."
If it were not for the courage of the hostages, their self-control and restraint, the consequences could have been much worse, said the President.
Vladimir Putin addressed words of sincere and profound gratitude to the participants in the meeting and through them to all former hostages.
