Measures to Prevent Spread of Atypical Pneumonia Being Taken in Amur Region

The administration of the Amur Region (the Far East) has adopted a resolution on measures to prevent spread of atypical pneumonia on the territory of the Region. In particular, the receiving of foreign delegations from the countries of South-East Asia, as well as trips of representatives of the Amur Region to these countries shall be discontinued.

Furthermore, the organisation of different international events on the territory of the Amur Region, among them fairs and exhibitions with the participation of the countries where cases of atypical pneumonia have been registered, has been halted.

Upon the decision of the chief sanitary physician for the Amur Region passage of individuals through the Blagoveshchensk custom-house has been limited. All those arriving undergo thorough medical control, and control has been tightened also on the city's markets where PRC citizens trade.

The entry of Chinese citizens into the territory of Russia has been temporarily limited. This decision was taken in connection with the cases of exposure of individuals with a suspicion of atypical pneumonia among PRC citizens which have become more frequent at the Blagoveshchensk-River Port border check-point.
