Attempts Continue To Extinguish Fire In Russian Space Force's Control Center

About 100 fire fighters and 4 rescue teams (a total of 50 people) are involved in the effort to extinguish fire in the Russian Defense Ministry's space force control center, based 354 kilometers northwest of Serpukhov, in the Kaluga Region, reports the Kaluga interior department. The men are making use of 37 pieces of special equipment, brought to the fire scene from the Kaluga region and regions adjacent to it, as well as from Moscow. Thus, a 30-meter-tall hoist and a number of foam-forming extinguishers have been brought in from the capital city. According to preliminary data, the fire broke out on the cable floor above the control center. It then extended to vertical and horizontal cable tunnels, but was prevented from spreading as far as the principal antenna system. The blaze embraced a total of 400 square meters on the 3rd and the 4th floors of the 6-story building. It has been contained by now.
