Giant-4 Barge Tied To Kursk Nuclear Submarine Moves Across Kola Bay

The Giant-4 barge tied to the Kursk nuclear submarine is now moving across the Kola Bay. To reach the roadstead of the Belokamenka Bay, opposite to the Roslyakovo settlement, it has to cover 5-6 sea miles, RIA Novosti was told on Wednesday by spokesman for the Smit International company Lars Valder. According to him, the barge will cover the remaining distance by 10.00 Moscow time and put on four special catching devices called thwarts. Valder noted that weather was favourable for the towage and passage of the barge through the narrow spots of the Gulf. During the passage of the barge across the Gulf navigation in the region was stopped for eight hours.
