Detained frontier guards plead guilty of killing eight comrades-in-arms

Frontier guards Oleg Khismatulin and Nikolay Bashkov, who were detained inthe North Ossetia, confessed that they had shot their comrade-in-arms onthe Russian-Georgian border. The servicemen were detained near the Baltavillage at 20:30 August 27 by officers of the North Ossetian interiorMinistry and frontier guards. At the preliminary interrogation the detainedsaid that they had shot eight frontier guards because of bullying. Bashkovkilled seven people and Khismatulin killed one person.The criminals took two sub-machine guns and a radio set, which they used tointercept communication of raid patrols that were searching for them.During four days the frontier guards were hiding in forests and caves inIngushetia and then they went to North Ossetia. At the moment of arrest,they had only one sub-machine gun. The other was given to a citizen of theIngush village of Ezmi, who has already confirmed this fact.Currently the investigation is continuing. As it was found out,Khismatulin, who was recruited in Bashkortostan, was convicted for illegaldrug trade in 1998..
