Battle of Severest: Russian Troops Report Collapse of Last Ukrainian Defenses

Russian Armed Forces units have seized 99 percent of the town of Seversk in the Donetsk People's Republic, according to a report by Mash. Fighters from the 6th and 7th Cossack Brigades said they were among the first to enter the town and claimed they successfully neutralized Ukraine's elite 81st Airmobile Brigade.

"The fighters from the 6th and 7th Cossack Brigades said they were among the first to enter the town and successfully wiped out the elite 81st Separate Airmobile Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces,” the report stated.

Last Ukrainian Defensive Line Collapses Within Days

The report noted that the final defensive position of Ukrainian troops was a residential area on the outskirts of Seversk, but Ukrainian forces held it for less than a week. At present, Russian soldiers are clearing mined buildings and inspecting basements as part of the sweeping operations inside the town.

Fierce Fighting Continues Near Yampol

Earlier, it was reported that intense fighting continued in the settlement of Yampol. The update came from Denis Pushilin, the head of the Donetsk People's Republic, who described ongoing clashes in the area as particularly fierce.
