Bin Laden’s ‘Ambassador to Europe’ Arrested

Great Britain is afraid of Al-Qaida’s revenge

The British special services arrested a person who was suspected of having close contacts with the head of the terrorist organization Al-Qaida, Osama bin Laden. As it was informed, 42-year-old Jordanian national Abu Qutadah disappeared right after Great Britain approved the law that allows authorities to detain suspicious foreigners. Abu Qutadah disappeared in December of the past year. He has been living in London since 1994.

Jordanian Abu Qutadah has been on the wanted list since that time. He was registered in the databases of intelligence services as Osama bin Laden’s “ambassador to Europe.” According to the Times of London, Abu Qutadah was detained on Wednesday in one of London’s southern areas. British Home Secretary David Blunkett confirmed that the law-enforcement bodies arrested the Jordanian citizen based on the anti-terrorist law. However, the secretary refused to unveil the indentity of the detained person.

It has recently transpired that Bin Laden's “ambassador to Europe” was living safe and sound under the protection of the British special services. Time magazine reported with reference to an anonymous spokesman for European special services that Abu Qutadah and his family were living in a house in the north of England. The British intelligence was watching him carefully. An anonymous person said that Abu Qutadah did not have the opportunity to contact extremists in London or in the whole of Europe. However, he could not be arrested or expelled, since no one knew where he was officially staying.

The British have won. The last thing they want is a problem with a person who they can not expel due to their fear of revenge on the part of Al-Qaida. A spokesman for British intelligence services added that the presence of this man was totally contrary to the official position of London (London’s support of the anti-terrorist struggle). There can be one conclusion made: devotion to Washington resulted in the fear of Bin Laden’s revenge.
