Russian tycoon Roman Abramovich does not intend to provide financial support to the National Academy of Football (NAF), which, in his opinion, has accomplished the required goals.

The NAF has built about 140 football fields in Russia and upgraded The Football Academy of Yuri Konoplev. In total, the entrepreneur spent about 150-200 million dollars on the NAF.

In addition, the foundation was funding and Russian national football team, paying the contract of former head coach of the team, Guus Hiddink. The head coach was then paid about seven million dollars a year. Following Hiddink's resignation, new team coach Dick Advocaat was no longer paid from Abramovich's fund.
