Rihanna, whose full name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty, chooses an easy and still bold way to please her fans.
The Barbadian singer is featured nearly topless on artwork for the song, covered only by what looks to be barbed wire.
The photo fits the apparent theme for her new album, "Rated R," which is due out Nov. 23. It will be her first CD since 2007's "Good Girl Gone Bad," which went multiplatinum. It will also be her first solo single since she was attacked by ex-boyfriend Chris Brown.
"Russian Roulette" will debut Tuesday on Rihanna's Web site.
Born in Saint Michael, Barbados, Rihanna moved to the United States at the age of 16 to pursue a recording career.
Rihanna has sold over 12 million albums,worldwide in her four-year career span and has received several accolades, including the 2007 World Music Awards for World's Best-Selling Pop Female Artist and Female Entertainer of the Year, as well as the 2008 American Music Awards for Favorite Soul/R&B Female Artist and Favorite Pop/Rock Female Artist.
Rihanna has attained five Hot 100 number one singles. She also serves as one of Barbados' honorary cultural ambassadors.
