Yoko Ono celebrates her 80th birthday in Germany
The widow of legendary Beatle John Lennon, artist, poet and musician Yoko Ono celebrates her 80th anniversary.
Despite the honorable age, Ono is full of plans. She is celebrating her birthday in Germany. The singer will give a grand concert in the German capital with Plastic Ono Band, which was organized jointly with John Lennon in 1969.
An exhibition devoted to the work of Yoko Ono opened in the halls of the famous gallery Schirn Kunsthalle in Frankfurt on the Main, Germany. The exhibition displaying Ono's 60 years of experience in photography, video works, texts and installations will work till May 12 and then move to Denmark, Austria and Spain.
In 1966, a member of The Beatles, John Lennon, visited the London exhibition of the artist. In 1968, they moved in together and released an album Two Virgins, the cover of which showed them both completely naked. A year after the break-up of The Beatles, in 1971, Lennon and Ono moved to New York, where the artist and singer lives still.
