Edward Snowden has submitted an application to the Federal Migration Service of Russia with a request to grant him temporary asylum in the country. Earlier, lawyer Kuchenera said that he was personally counseling the fugitive whistleblower on the subject.

Russia had offered political asylum to Snowden before if he agreed not to cause harm to the United States with his information. Initially, the former CIA officer rejected this condition, but he changed his mind later.

As soon as Snowden receives temporary asylum in Russia, it will be easier for him to solve the problem with paperwork that will be required to obtain permanent political protection in one country. Most likely, the whistleblower will travel to Latin America.
