Donetsk militia say Ukraine uses US tactics of scorched land
Representative of the People's Republic of Donetsk, Andrei Rodkin, told reporters that should Kiev's punitive group grow in Donbass, the militia are ready to proceed to guerrilla warfare tactics.
According to him, despite the overwhelming superiority of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the militia have reached considerable success in the struggle.
"We captured new types of hardware from the Ukrainian army: Grad multiple rocket launchers, and BMP-2," he said. "In this sense, there are not many of us, but, in all probability, we will be able to defend ourselves," he added.
Rodkin noted that the Ukrainian troops used the US tactics of warfare. "What they call cleansing is no cleansing, but the tactics of scorched ground," he said.
The representative of the People's Republic of Donetsk estimated the power of the Ukrainian army at 340,000 soldiers and about 1,000 armored vehicles, ITAR-TASS reports.
At the same time, he said, the government of the People's Republic of Donetsk needs peace and is ready to negotiation truce.
