Apple Corporation is losing revenues for the first time in ten years. The profit for the second quarter of fiscal year 2013 totaled $ 9.5 billion, or 18 percent less than during the previous year. However, the sales of Apple products have been growing. During the above-mentioned period, there were 37.4 million iPhones (35,1 million last year) and 19.5 million iPads (vs. 11.8 million) sold.

The decrease in the profits of the U.S. corporations is largely influenced by the growing competition in the market of mobile phones and tablet computers, especially by the growing activities of South Korean company Samsung.

It was reported against the background of such news that the head of Apple, Tim Cook, may lose his position.
