Afghan militants release kidnapped French aid worker

One of two French aid workers held hostage in Afghanistan for nearly a month was released Saturday, the French Foreign Ministry said.

"The French authorities confirm that one of the hostages from the Terre d'Enfance aid organization was released this morning in Afghanistan," the ministry said in a statement, which did not indicate which hostage was released. Earlier, the Afghan government said it was investigating Taliban claims that the militants had released one captive.
