Bangladesh police investigating plot to opposition party’s member

Police and security guards arrested a man late Monday inside the memorial where Sheikh Hasina, president of the opposition Awami League, was to place floral wreaths on Tuesday to honor her father, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Bangladesh's first leader, according to a party spokesman, the AP reports.

Spokesman Abdul Jalil said the man was allegedly found cutting electrical wires as a part of the assassination attempt. Three others were arrested following questioning of the man, he said.
