China: Saomai kills 214 people; 100 still missing

Fujian province's storm death toll rose to 125, the provincial Water Resources Bureau said on its Web site. The province earlier had reported a total of 45 deaths from Saomai, which leveled thousands of houses last week, sank fishing boats and blacked out six cities.

Elsewhere, Chinese authorities earlier reported 87 deaths in neighboring Zhejiang province and two in the inland province of Jiangxi, according to the AP.
